Automotive Hardware Platform and other open Chips JU calls

The Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) highlights the need for stronger alignment between the automotive and the hardware industry. The automotive industry is undergoing a transformative shift towards software-defined vehicles (SDVs), driven by rapid advancements in digital technologies, electrification, and the growing demand for connected and autonomous vehicles. As AI becomes increasingly vital to engineering automation and the demand for hardware platforms continues to grow, the rising complexity demands greater reuse and standardisation. This can be achieved with evolving hardware.

On those thematics, Chips JU has recently launched a call in collaboration with the European Commission in a pre-competitive R&I setting. Among those:

  • RISC-V Automotive Hardware Platform (HORIZON-JU-CHIPS-2025-IA-two-stage-FT1)
  • AI-assisted Methods and Tools for Engineering Automation (HORIZON-JU-CHIPS-2025-IA-two-stage-FT2)
  • Heterogeneous integration for high-performance automotive computing (HORIZON-JU-Chips-2025-IA-HPA)

Check out all the open Chips JU calls for 2025. The first deadline for submissions is on 29 April 2025.
